I was on my way home when I saw this wedding sign on the road. It’s not
who’s going to get married that caught my eye, but the date. I was
reminded that today is a special day. They say that today is/should be
the luckiest day in the calendar! ;) 777. Get it? So I thought this
will be a good day to update my blog(s), which is/are gathering dust as
we speak.

So let’s pretend you’re reading this and you’re really
interested to know what happened during the past year (if you noticed,
I last updated my blog about a year ago!). I don’t have a great memory
so I’ll probably just gloss over some things and post what I remember
LOL.

October 26, 2006 -
This was the day that I became an uncle. My brother and his wife had a
baby girl and decided to name her Jacobe Mae. My niece is also my first
goddaughter/godchild. :) Yes, she’s cute!!!

I think that’s the
only significant date during the past year. LOL. But that’s not the
only interesting/happy thing that happened. There was the yearly
get-together with my good friend in Canada, Jeff, who always come home
during the Christmas holidays. There’s also the few movie-watching
adventures with Emma, Paul and/or Roderick. We usually just watch major
Hollywood movies like Spider-man or Transformers. I’m actually kind of
sad that now that we all have our own jobs it’s much tougher to find a
common time when all of us can watch a movie together. :-( But I love
watching movies so I usually just watch new/old movies at home.

About
TV shows, I discovered (albeit a bit late) a new favorite: LOST. If
you’re fans of theories and speculations, you’ll love this show. On the
Reality TV genre, I’m still a fan of the Amazing Race, I’m slowly
getting uninterested with Survivor, I still rather watch Big Brother US
than Pinoy Big Brother.

My job is STILL the same, but hopefully it will change soon. I don’t want to jinx it so I won’t mention what it’s all about.

I’m
still playing online games but I’d like to think I’m successfully
cutting down on it. With new hobbies like watching movies and the
upcoming Harry Potter book (the last in the series), I think I’d be
free of ORGs by the time September comes and Survivor: China starts.

Books!
I’m looking forward to getting the last Harry Potter book (Harry Potter
and the Deathly Hallows). I really need to get the latest books from
Jeffery Deaver and James Patterson. The past year I read books that my
brother got from one of his co-workers, who left the books because he’s
going to another country. Sadly, only a few of them were of my taste.
So I’m really craving for Deaver and Patterson books.

I think
that’s it. Maybe I should try to blog on the movies I watch, or maybe
TV shows as well. I don’t know, sometimes I get bored just thinking
about updating this blog. If only I have a high-end mobile phone which
will let me update this whenever I’m traveling home, then you’d
probably see this blog get filled quick.

Anyway, that’s all for now. What? You’re still here?? Imagine that. Here’s a brownie.

Oy. Updates.

July 11th, 2006 by jpsolatorio

My life’s getting boring. LOL. Anyway, still in the same job. I got
longer hair, I plan on not visiting our friendly neighborhood barber
for one more month at least.

Today’s weather totally reminded me why I hate going out in the rain.
It’s so frustrating when every road you’re going to walk on is flooded.
Don’t you hate the feeling of wet socks on your feet?

I need to take up a new hobby. I love the Internet, but I feel that I’m
betraying my other hobbies. I haven’t picked up and played (or tried
to) my guitar since … 3 weeks ago? I am still reading Oliver Twist
which I have started a month ago. I should have finished it but I’m a
slow reader nowadays. I told myself I’m going to self-learn Java
(borrowed a book from someone) but … ding ding ding … correct, I
haven’t started yet.

I totally skipped Superman Returns on theaters. I just feel "meh" about it. At least the last movie I watched was X-Men 3.

I need to stock up on books to read.

I don’t know what are the popular songs right now in our country.

If you live in another country, I want to talk to you about your
culture and stuff. I find it interesting how diverse our world can be.

I want to learn to speak several languages.

Ok, I’m rambling. TTYL.

Last week, I got sick

March 19th, 2006 by jpsolatorio

It’s not something to be proud of. I’m just posting this so that I know what date exactly I got sick. LOL. I was sick from March 12 until March 15, rested on 16 and 17. I didn’t go to the office for 5 days! *gasp*

I was surprised on how bad it was. I rarely get sick, and if I do get sick, it would just be a simple fever that would last a day or 2. I didn’t have to go to the hospital or drink medicine. But last week was so bad I thought I was going to be hospitalized. Luckily the meds fixed me up. It was a pain swallowing those pills tho! Blech. I never got the hang of it. Why don’t they make chewable medicines for adults as well?

See you around guys. If you have the time, call or text me!!! :D

This should be a looong update….

January 22nd, 2006 by jpsolatorio

I haven’t updated this for a while. That’s how monotonous and boring my
life has been lately. But at least I’m alive and healthy (as far as I
know).

December

* I was happy that Danni Boatwright won Survivor: Guatemala, even though I was rooting for Stephenie LaGrossa.
*
I was pleased the Linzes won the Amazing Race: Family Edition. Can’t
wait for Season 9, which will air on the 28th of February.
* Christmas was ok, not so great. (I’m not whining!)
*
Jeff, a friend of mine since high school who was in Canada for a year
(I think), was back and he invited me and a couple of friends for
dinner with him and his siblings plus 2 of his friends in college. We
had a great time, and I got to taste my first Starbucks coffee! (That’s
how dull it’s been this past few months, that I even celebrated my
first cup of expensive Starbucks coffee). Thanks Gretch! ;)

January

* New year! Fireworks, firecrackers, food!
* I started a new online game called The Farm, based on a reality show from Chile. The idea came from an online friend, who is now my co-host there.
* I discovered eBay.ph and bought books. I have now completed Deaver’s 3-book Rune series.
* I got Alias Season 1 on DVD and it rocks!!!
*
Got voted off in a Survivor game, planning on hosting an Amazing Race
and Survivor game, preparing my Amazing Race 9 prediction game, making
buffs as a favor for friends, racing "around the world" with Heather
lol, etc etc etc.

2006 should be a great year. :)

Reality TV Finale Week

December 10th, 2005 by jpsolatorio

Next week will be an awesome week. Two of my favorite reality shows,
Survivor and the Amazing Race, are going to air their season finale!

We’re
down to the Final 4. Who among Danni, Lydia, Rafe and Stephenie will
win the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million prize? (Well, I think
I know who wins by browsing several spoiler sites, but I won’t spoil
you. Hehe!) Find out on Monday, 2:00 PM on Studio 23!

The Final
3 teams of the Bransens, the Linzes, and the Weavers are going to
battle it out to earn $1 million and become the official winners of the
Amazing Race. Who will win? (Again, I think I know who wins from
several websites, lol) Tune in on Wednesday, 10 am on Studio 23 for the
2-hour finale!

Amazing Race 8 Prediction Game

September 25th, 2005 by jpsolatorio

Amazing Race 8 is starting soon, and so is my new game! I’m going to run The Amazing Race 8 Prediction Game.
It’s fairly simple. Each week, before each episode air, you have to
answer a few questions about the upcoming episode, like "Who will be
eliminated?" The results will be shown after the episode is televised,
and the score will be tallied. You also get bonus points for other
stuff. It’s very simple and easy.

If you are a fan of the show and would like to join a game, please try out mine! Thanks! :)

PS: I’m currently reading Congo by Michael Crichton.

Mozilla!

August 27th, 2005 by jpsolatorio

I really love Mozilla products. I’ve been using Firefox
as my browser for several months now, and it’s all pleasure. There are
some fancy stuff that it can’t seem to do (like glowing fonts), but I’m
not complaining. The best thing about it is that it is FREE. The
installer file is also quite small, about 4.5 MB, very convenient to
download. Try it out! You’ll forget you even have IE.

If you are using Outlook or Outlook Express and you are hating it, I suggest trying Mozilla’s Thunderbird
email client. Again, this is FREE to download, the installer is only
5.8 MB, and there’s one feature that I totally love about it: you can
download RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds to your computer! Are
you still with me? I’ll give you an example. I download blogs using my
Thunderbird program! Blogs! Yes! Isn’t that neat? Instead of visiting
different blogs, you can download the latest entries right to your
computer. It’s amazing. But of course, you need to do some geeky stuff
for you to be able to make it work. ;-)

If you’re still reading
this, then it means you are interested and you’ll go out try these
products that I am shamelessly promoting. Try them! (Yes, try them NOW.)
